Griffith Gardens
Created as my Master’s Thesis at Drexel University, Griffith Gardens is a proposed permanent supportive co-housing facility and community center located in West Philadelphia across from community landmark Clark Park. This adaptive reuse project addresses housing insecurity as an ongoing crisis that intersects with the built environment by presenting a unique list of needs that interiors could address utilizing trauma-informed design strategies. Griffith Gardens includes 16 residential units with on-site mental and physical health services, case management, educational fellowship opportunities, a co-op storefront, and flexible community-facing spaces that benefit the local neighborhood of residents, university students, and local Philadelphians.
